Start With Greater Clarity About What You Really Want

Without clarity you have no real focus or meaningful action and as a result nothing happens. With it comes focus and action follows focus.

If you are not crystal clear about what you really want then it is extremely unlikely that you'll ever get it.
Do you feel clear and focused right now?

A place to start.

A lack of clarity can create a substantial sticking point between knowing what you want and actually having it.

You need to take the time to get clear about what you really want. Give yourself a clearly defined target to aim at so you can take your best shot.

Once you clearly define what you want, then you have something to focus on. You can’t expect to hit a bull’s eye until you have a target to aim at.

Without clarity your efforts are random and your focus is scattered.

The role of clarity is to provide you with direction. Without a clearly defined road map for your journey, you will just be wandering through your life rather than forging ahead on your path with purpose. Clarity keeps your eyes on the road, with your destination clearly ahead.

Doing what you’re already doing won’t give you more clarity.

Sometimes you have to get moving first before you can achieve clarity. You’ll enjoy more clarity when you’re in motion than when you’re standing still.

Writing down your goals pushes you to make them clearer and more precise.

Thinking about what to do next and writing down some goals can certainly help.

As soon as you write down your goals, you’ll experience a boost in clarity. And each time you review your goals, you’ll gain more clarity.

It’s easy for a goal to remain fuzzy when it’s only in your mind. Putting your goal in writing is the first key action step toward making it real.

Getting a different perspective.

Sometimes the greatest source of clarity comes from someone with a fresh perspective. Others are often able to see our situation in a completely different way than we see it ourselves. Their independent assessment can be an extremely valuable source of insight and direction. My clients say that my ability to do this for them is one of the most eye opening experiences they have had in their business.

You need to bear in mind though that you’re still 100% responsible for your level of clarity. Using mentors, coaches, and consultants as a resource to help you see the big picture is invaluable, but taking the action to achieve the results is still your responsibility. A good mentor can help draw out and validate a path that’s right for you, but creating the path is your responsibility.

Clarity is the foundational piece to you achieving success.

Without clarity of what success really means to you, there is little to no chance that you'll ever achieve. And even if you did, you probably wouldn't realise it. A clear, well-defined vision of what success looks like for you will allow you to plan, work for, and achieve your ultimate success.
